There are always a range of rumours about driving and especially around the practical and theory tests that are involved in successfully learning to drive.
With that in mind we have collated a few frequently asked questions we hear from our students in a bid to put your mind at ease and feel confident in booking a driving lesson with a BDC instructor.

- How much do driving lessons cost?
With BDC driving school our driving lesson prices start at £23 per lesson. However, we offer a vairety of block booking discounts and different types of driving lesson. Give us a call on 0800 975 7016 or fill out the enquiry form to get a quote.
- Can I start driving lessons before my 17th Birthday?
In order to undertake driving lessons in a car, you will require a provisional drivers license which you can apply for up to 3 months before your 17th birthday. However, you can apply for a provisional license to drive a moped or motorcycle on or after your 16th birthday.
- Do I have to learn to drive a manual car or can I learn to drive in an automatic?
Currently we only provide lessons in cars with manual transmissions. However, learning to drive a manual transmission allows your drive an automatic within your license.
- How long does the theory test certificate last in order for me to pass my practical driving test?
Once you have passed the driving theory test for cars and motorcycles, it is valid for two years from the date you pass your test. Therefore you have two years to pass the practical driving test, otherwise you will need to resit the theoretical driving test.
- Do I need a tax disc for my car?
After October 2014 you will no longer need a paper tax disc displayed in your vehicle and the DVLA modernises the system to be completely electronic. Read more about the tax disc changes.
